Title mRNA profiling of patients infected with Ebola virus compared with healthy adult
Organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Ebola virus can cause a severe and often fatal hemorrhagic fever in humans and other mammals, known as Ebola virus disease (EVD),the mechanism of how this pathogenesis comes about is not well understood, but it is well accepted that pathogenesis is significantly driven by a hyperactive immune response. To better understand the overall response to Ebola virus challenge, we undertook a transcriptomic analysis using the whole blood of EBOV infection patients.

Overall design Human blood mRNA profiles of 22 EBOV infection patients and 10 healthy adults were generated by deep sequencing, using Illumina Hiseq 4000 platform
