Title Recombinant human GDF2 protein effect on human hepatic stellate cell line LX2
Organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary Analysis of human hepatic stellate cell line LX2 stimulated for 24h in serum-free DMEM medium containing 0 or 50 ng/ml recombinant human GDF2 protein. Results provide insight into the activation effects of GDF2 on human hepatic stellate cell.
We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression underlying activation of hepatic stellate cells and identified liver-fibrosis-related genes genes during this process.

Overall design LX-2 cells were serum-starved for 12 hours and treated with 0 or 50 ng/ml recombinant human BMP9 proteins for another 24 hours. Total RNA was extracted and then hybridized onto an Affymetrix gene microarray We divided cell samples according to rhBMP9 treatment concentration: i.e. LX2 with 0ng/ml rhBMP9, LX2 with 50ng/ml rhBMP9.
