Title |
Inducible smooth muscle specific deletion of Yap1/Wwtr1 in mouse |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
YAP and TAZ are transcriptional co-activators and downstream effectors of the Hippo pathway, which play crucial roles in organ size control and cancer pathogenesis. Genetic deletion of YAP/TAZ has revealed their critical importance for embryonic development of the heart, vasculature and gastrointestinal mesenchyme. The aim of this study was to determine the functional role of YAP/TAZ in adult smooth muscle cell in vivo.

Overall design |
Distal colon and urinary bladder from 3 controls (Myh11CreERT2-negative-Yap1/Wwtr1 floxed) and 3 knockout (Myh11CreERT2-positive-Yap1/Wwtr1 floxed) were isolated and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen 7 days after the first (out of 5) tamoxifen injections
