Summary The phenotypic proximity of the human regulatory macrophage (M reg) to a panel of comparator macrophages in defined polarisation states was assessed by whole-genome transcriptional profiling.
 
Overall design Human M regs and comparator macrophages were generated from positively-isolated CD14(+) peripheral blood monocytes from three normal, healthy individuals.
