Title microRNA signature to support clinical-decision making in patients with suspected Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Non-coding RNA profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Plasmatic microRNA sequencing was conducted in specific matched subgroups of subjects (n = 53) with and without OSA using HTG EdgeSeq miRNA WTA Assay technology.

Overall design Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent syndrome associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Recognizing and comprehensively characterizing the diverse pathogenetic pathways are pivotal steps to enhance outcomes. microRNA (miRNA) profiling represents a promising tool for elucidating pathogenetic mechanisms and developing disease-modifying interventions.

Plasma miRNAs were quantified through RNA sequencing (HTG Molecular Diagnostics, Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA) in 53 matched patients with and without OSA (selected using nearest neighbor propensity score matching by age, sex and body mass index (BMI))
