Summary Here we provide the gene expression patterns of PXB-cells , primary human hepatocytes (PHH), and HepaRG cells in Matrigel sandwich culture, HepG2 cells in 2D culture, and total human liver tissues. These data will provide insight into the appropriate selection of the cells for in vitro cellular models.
 
Overall design Comparison of transcriptome profiling among multiple hepatic tissues and cells including PXB-cells, cryopreserved PHHs, HepaRG cells, HepG2 cells, and total human liver tissue.
