Title |
Weight loss following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery leads to changes in the expression of several miRNAs and their predicted target genes in skeletal muscle |
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by RT-PCR
|
Summary |
miRNA profiles were investigated in skeletal muscle in severely obese individuals with or without diabetes before and after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery.

Overall design |
16 severely obese patients without type 2 diabetes mellitus (OB) and nine severely obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were elected for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. We examined the participants after a diet-induced weight loss (B) and approximately 4 months post-surgery (C). 50 samples were included in this screen.
