Title Weight loss following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery leads to changes in the expression of several miRNAs and their predicted target genes in skeletal muscle

Summary miRNA profiles were investigated in skeletal muscle in severely obese individuals with or without diabetes before and after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery.
 
Overall design 16 severely obese patients without type 2 diabetes mellitus (OB) and nine severely obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were elected for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery. We examined the participants after a diet-induced weight loss (B) and approximately 4 months post-surgery (C). 50 samples were included in this screen.
